Origin of Quartz

In China, except for Shanghai and Tianjin city, other provinces, cities, and autonomous region have output for crystal, quartz ,and natural silica sand. There is better quality of ones in Guangdong, Guangxi, Qinghai, Fujian, Yunnan, Sichuan, Heilongjiang and other provinces; and the best of in Hainan and Jiangsu. The main source for crystal, quartz vein in Jiangsu Province is Donghai County. Natural quartz crystal and quartz in Donghai County have rich reserves. According to the geological prediction team six in the Jiangsu Province,  The content of SiO2 in natural crystal is up to 99.9983%, and its quality and reserves is NO.1 in China.
Crystal, quartz vein mining in Donghai County has a long history. In 1958, people in Fang Shan Zhen zhe Tang Cun, had mined single crystal weighing 3.5 tons "Crystal King", 1982 hump Xiang Nan Liu Cun minied single crystal weight 2.1 tons (were deposited in the Geological Museum of China in Beijing), caused popular attention at home and abroad. According to the statistical data for many years of Ministry of geology crystal management office, which  confirmed that Donghai County Crystal acquisition accounted for more than 50% of the crystal yield (Table 1 shows the 105 mine of Donghai County Crystal from 1973 to 1988 acquisition volume), and raw materials for crystal coffin of Chairman Mao Zedong was supplied by the East China Sea, Donghai County is the famous "township of the crystal”.
Due to the reserves of crystal, quartz vein, quartz gravel, natural silica sand, quartzite and quartz powder ore belong to non pillar mineral resources in the national economy of China ,and it is also a variety of non - metallic mineral deposits in China, so the national reserves are mostly in the prediction and estimation, in the exploitation and use of the principle of sustainable development
